Investigation report on the death of all mankind
Account of the incident Where - The Garden of Eden When - Approximately 4,114 BC (after the investigation we have identified the exact time, but will specify it later) Overview of the incident - Man is the first creature that was made in God’s image. Man could live eternally without seeing death by eating from the tree of life. However, the first man Adam fell to lose the image of God and become a sinner and a mortal being. He was deceived by the serpent’s lie that he certainly would not die even if he eats from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He thus became a slave of the serpent. As a consequence, he became a mortal being instead of an immortal one. And throughout the 6,000 years of history of mankind, only two men, Enoch and Elijah did not see death while the rest of mankind succumbed to death.
Investigation Result The criminal history of the suspect, Eve - She ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil before anyone else. - She also talked her husband into eating the fruit, saying “I didn’t die after eating it.” - In a sense, she is the main culprit of this incident.
The criminal history of the suspect, Adam - He is the prime mover who was directly commanded by God not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He had the responsibility to teach the Word to Eve precisely and thoroughly, but neglected it. - As he listened to Eve, he doubted God’s Word and trusted what Eve said more than what God said. As a result, he ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge and evil. - Considering that he received the direct command from God, and Eve’s action is eventually attributed to Adam’s neglect of his responsibility, Adam is indicted as the main culprit of this incident and Eve as an accessory.
The criminal history of the suspect, the serpent - The serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field and fell before Adam. It approached Eve with the intention to tempt her. It came between God and man and did not hesitate to lie in order to fulfill his intention. - As the serpent is an evil being showing no sign of repentance and intention of improvement, it is sentenced to the final, irreversible punishment to be bruised on the head so that it won’t commit the same sin ever again.
Sentences to the suspects, Adam and Eve - Both suspects are sentenced to death. As in Hebrew “Adam” means “Man,” all mankind is sentenced to the same punishment. As all men have original sin, ancestral sin and self-committed sin, they cannot appeal or resent that this sentence is guilt-by-association. Additionally, Adam is sentenced to eat in toil all the days of his life and Eve to bring forth children in pain. The execution of death on Adam will be suspended for 930 years so that he can have an opportunity to teach his descendants about the beauty of the Garden of Eden and the fearfulness of the consequence of sin.
A special pardon order - The fact that Adam and Eve heard the voice of God, “Adam, where are you?” right after they sinned is taken into consideration. It was out of God’s first love that His first calling in redemptive history was heard. It is notified that this calling is tantamount to a special pardon. Although the sentence imposed on Adam, Eve, and mankind is irreversible, with the special discretion of God, the Judge, they will be given a general amnesty. However, the final execution of the amnesty will be suspended until the final fulfillment of redemptive history through the first and second coming of Jesus, who is the climax of the history of redemption.
