“God answered in our prayer that this Word is the truth.”
The History of Redemption Seminars in Cambodia and Nepal

The Genesis Genealogies Seminar in Cambodia
300 people in attendance (20 ministers)

Cambodia has a population of 14 million with 95% Buddhists, 2% Muslims, and 2% Christians. The History of Redemption was held in Phnom Penh on November 26th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dr. Phillip Lee and Rev. Andrew Pak, the missionary team, were surprised that only  young  people  attended  the  seminar.    It  was  because  the  communist group, Khmer Rouge, had massacred approximately 3 million people over a period of 3 years and 8 months from 1975 until 1978. As a result, 70% of the current national population consists of young people born after 1978. Dr. Phil-lip Lee stated, “I saw how immensely terrifying  communism is. We must pray for our nation and country in order to protect it from the infiltration of com-munism.”
Three hundred people attended the seminar including over 20 ministers.  A local pastor commented , “There are a total of only 100 churches here, and it is amazing to see  more than 20 pastors attending this seminar.” He also stated, “Rev. Abraham Park is the first among Korean pastors to publish a book trans-lated  in  the  Cambodian  language.”  The  audience  exclaimed,  “wow,”  when hearing that the author read the Bible 1,800 times.
The attendees were unanimous in saying, “There are many authoritative mission-aries who do not even teach the Bible; but this seminar is so great because we not only learned about the Bible in depth, but also received the book in the Cam-bodian language. It does not get any better.” Pastor Bora who participated in the Cambodian translation of The Genesis Genealogies, the first book in the History of Redemption Series said, “I have heard many sermons and have read many theological books, but there was no life in them.
The History of Redemption Series, however, contains life. It is this Word that can save Cambodia.”

The Genesis Genealogies Seminar in Nepal
500 people in attendance (150 ministers)

Nepal has a population of 30 million with 80% Hindus, 19% Buddhists, and 1% Christians. Most of the roads are unpaved and nearly everyone lives in poverty and use motorcycles and rickshaws.
The power of the Word of redemptive history was astounding. Five hundred people attended the seminar held on November 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A local pastor said, “There are only about 500 churches in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. It is hard to believe 150 pastors from those churches came.” The majority of the remaining attendees, excluding pastors, were church leaders.
The attendees shed tears during the seminar. They exclaimed, “Where would I ever be able to hear this kind of Word in my life?” They also said, “Out of 30 million people in Nepal, only 500 are receiv-ing this Word today, and we are here now. We are the happiest people in the world.”
Pastor Jit Lama, who translated The Genesis Genealogies into Nepali language, said, “One thou-sand copies have been published. It is the first time in Nepalese history that a Korean pastor has published a book in Nepali.”
A characteristic of the Nepalese people is their loyalty. Once they serve someone as their master, they give their lives and are loyal until the very end. Nepalese pastors confessed, “God answered us in our prayer that this Word is the truth. We can give our lives for this Word.”

Matthew 25:14 states, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a tes-timony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” It is certain that wherever the History of Re-demption series reach, the Gospel of the Kingdom is fully preached and God’s will is proclaimed.
