From the release of the 1st book in the History of Redemption series The Genesis Genealogies in October 2007 until the release of the 6th book The Eternal High Priest of the Covenantal Oath in May 2011, the publication cycle for each book in the series did not pass a year, even though each book was 400-500 pages long. However, the hectic race of the History of Redemption series came to a halt for over a year and a half, without any news of the publication of the 7th book. It was a surprise gift for the saints and readers that the 7th, 8th, and 9th books would soon be released simultaneously. We were able to hear from Huisun press the highlights of the 7th, 8th, and 9th books that await their publication shortly.

The reason for their concurrent release ? The message of “Preservation of the Bible”

There is a reason why the 7th, 8th, and 9th books in the History of Redemption series must be released together. Just as the 3rd, 4th, and 5th books were released as part of “the genealogy of Jesus” series, the 7th, 8th, and 9th books can be summarized into “the history of preservation of the Bible.” The 7th book deals with the Ten Commandments, the 8th book with the five sacrifice offerings (burnt offering, grain offering, peace offering, sin offering, and guilt offering) and the tabernacle, and the 9th book deals with the history of the ark and the book of the law. The concomitant feature of all three books is the history of preservation of the Bible that was carried out by God from the time His Word was recorded as the scriptures and remained throughout history until it reached the present day saints.
The word ‘preservation’ in Chinese characters means “to keep and protect.” Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church, a member of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea Bible Conservative, has been adhering to their spiritual philosophy to become “a church that continues to keep the faith that preserves the Bible to the end.”
The founder of Pyungkang Cheil Church and author of the History of Redemption series, Rev. Yoon-sik Park has lived his entire life with a persistent determination to “keep and preserve” and has never budged an inch, if it is for the Word of God.

Today, countless churches in Korea face criticism regarding their secularization and loss of life force as a result of not focusing on the Bible, the Word of God. At a time like this, the History of Redemption series and Pyungkang Cheil Church that focus only on the Bible are receiving much attention from pastors and theologians within Korea and overseas as the epicenter of the “second religious reformation.” The 7th, 8th, and 9th books in the History of Redemption series present the Biblical evidences on this in an in-depth and critical manner.

The Highlight of the 7th book: the five rules in interpreting the Ten Commandments

Just like the 6th book in the History of Redemption series that has already been published, the 7th book overflows with Biblical facts and visual materials that have been recorded for the “first time ever in world history.” Along with visual references such as the calendar of Moses’ 1st to 8th ascent of Mount Sinai, the process of God establishing the covenant with the Israelites is vividly illustrated like a film or documentary strictly according to the Bible.

What follows is an individual explanation of each of the Ten Commandments. These interpretations are unlike any other in that they present many new perspectives. Just as the preceding books in the History of Redemption presented ‘rules’ in interpreting the genealogies, there are five rules in interpreting each of the Ten Commandments: (1) the meaning of each commandment, (2) specific laws, (3) laws legislating punishment of those who violate the Ten Commandments, (4) the Ten Commandments interpreted by Jesus, and (5) the redemptive-historical lessons. The specific laws are the laws that were expanded from the framework of the Ten Commandments. Thus, the specific laws can be arranged according to the Ten Commandments. Furthermore, the punishment for those who violate the Ten Commandments is mostly death, and examples of such cases are introduced. Each of the Ten Commandments is expounded using the same pattern, including Jesus’ re-interpretation of the Ten Commandment and the redemptivehistorical meanings.

The highlight of the 8th book: the redemptive-historical meaning of the five sacrifice offerings and the tabernacle seen through a picture

The 8th book deals with the five sacrifice offerings and the tabernacle. During the Old Testament times, people met God by offering up sacrifices and because the five sacrifices (burnt offering, grain offering, peace offering, sin offering, and guilt offering) were offered up in the tabernacle, the two flow through the same context. Without understanding sacrifice offerings we cannot truly meet Jesus, and if we do not interpret the five sacrifice offerings properly, we cannot understand the history of redemption, that is, the history of God’s work of salvation. The only way for a saint and God to meet in the Old Testament times was through offering up sacrifices, and as such an inexhaustible amount of redemptive significance is contained within the methods of sacrifice. Despite of this fact, many saints overlook the methods of sacrifice offerings due to their complexity and difficulty. However, the 8th book presents an explanation of the redemptive-historical meaning of the five sacrifices offerings that can be easily grasped.

Visual references have been inserted to aid in the understanding of the tabernacle. Records regarding the tabernacle have been limited to writings and are therefore difficult to understand. Moses constructed the tabernacle according to the blueprint that he heard from God. From the measurements, shapes, materials, the person who would supervise, and even the order of the construction process, everything was built just as how God wanted.

As such the 8th book has employed the use of many visual materials throughout the book in order to help the reader easily understand. Until today we would have to travel to Israel or to the US to see a reproduction of the tabernacle. However “for the first time ever in world history” images have been produced enabling one to behold the tabernacle as recorded in the Bible. There are many reproductions of the tabernacle overseas that do not parallel Biblical records. They are the outcome of a literal interpretation, without considering the differences in customs. Detailed explanations of such instances are in the 8th book. For example, one tabernacle has been reproduced with white goat’s hair as a result of literally interpreting the following verse: “make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle,” while there are only black goats in the Palestine region. In the book of Song of Songs in the Bible there is a verse that likens beautiful, attractive hair to the hair of a goat. We do not have to physically travel to Palestine to find out that the hair of a goat found in the Palestinian region is in fact black. Such case emphasizes that the Bible is self-explanatory and that answers can be found within the Bible and through the
Bible itself.

The highlight of the 9th book: the diagram of the route of the ark’s movement and the history of the Bible that is delivered to us through the book of the law

The ark is the definitive work of the tabernacle as well as its completion; therefore it is discussed separately in the 9th book. The 9th book deals with the history of the ark and how it experienced much complication, and how Jeremiah hid the ark amidst the chaos of the fall of Southern Judah, resulting in the ark vanishing from history (Jeremiah 3:16).
The prophet Jeremiah was very much concerned with recording the Word of God and continued to record it as he was aware that the Messiah would come as the true type of the ark. Diagrams such as “The separation of the tabernacle and the ark and the history of their migration” and maps showing the route of the ark’s migration have been added to aid the saints to understand. Although the ark has disappeared, through the book of the law God’s work of salvation in the history of redemption has continued on to this present day.

This is the reason the 9th book has focused on exploring the book of the law that was passed down after Moses first recorded it until it has become the matrix of today’s Old and New Testament. In the process of the book of the law being recorded throughout the Old and New Testament times, many people have suffered persecution and died a martyr’s death in order to protect the Bible. The only way to fulfill the history of redemption is by protecting, believing and practicing the Bible that was passed down to us in this way.

The history of redemption series delves deeper into the essence of the Bible through the addition of each edition. Too many times we have ignored the Ten Commandments, the ark, and the tabernacle whilst reading the Bible and considered it an old story that is no longer valid. Today however, they approach us alive and so vividly, as the 7th, 8th, and 9th books in the History of Redemption series speak out to us that without knowing the significance of this we cannot understand Jesus Christ correctly. Moreover, it also emphasizes that only the “Bible conservative” who reads and understands the Bible properly is the way of a saint living in the end times and that the second religious reformation will begin in the place where such preservation of the Bible is carried out. A day is approaching when the History of Redemption series will once again shake the churches of the world and its saint and the world that is racing toward the end.
